Job Summary
This role is vital in providing high-quality treatment to patients according to physician orders and departmental standards. As an Adult Respiratory Therapist, you will work autonomously in various acute and critical care settings. Collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals is essential to make informed treatment recommendations. This position requires skills to treat a diverse patient population, including infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.

Key Responsibilities
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, or higher authority.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate of a respiratory therapy program accredited by the American Medical Association or an equivalent authority, or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina, or a senior student graduating in the next 3 months.
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
Must possess a license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or be eligible for licensure, or be a senior student graduating within three months. BLS certification is required. Maintain NBRC credentials. Employees hired before June 2016 may be Certified Respiratory Therapists. Those hired after June 2016 must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam and the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation to maintain employment.
NRP and PALS certification required for independent practice in the NICU and PICU at the Children's Hospital.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Must work effectively in a team environment and possess strong communication, computer, and organizational skills.
